Me neither, I was going to watch the xmas special, but as I haven't seen any of the other episodes yet I didn't think it would make much sense to me.

The thing I really liked about The Royle Family was that it was different to previous episodes. Last years' xmas special comeback was a bit of a bore fest. The visual gags around making the dinner were great, and didn't seem too tired despite every programme from Bottom to Mr Bean doing similar things in the past

I never really watched Gavin and Stacey, saw some of it Christmas Eve and felt it's very similar to The Royal Family.

... but much more up to date. Granted though you'd have to have seen the series to really appreciate the special.

Ricky Tomlinson is saying in the papers today at least one more Christmas special is in the pipeline, and possibly another series.
