Christmas Telly 2008

The Philippines one is the official advert being used across most of the European countries this year. I don't think I like it myself, it starts off with the trucks and then goes off on different tangents and generally looks a bit disorganised. The soundtrack has been poorly mixed as well.

The Coke trucks are touring Mexico this year. Yes, Mexico - of all places. When will we ever get to see them over here? And look at the website they've got as well. Now compare and contrast with this shambles It's just not fair.

Well said. Christmas telly consists of several channels and different subjects. Perhaps if conversations were more varied, people would reply and participate more often.

There is nothing wrong with discussing Coke but in honesty it should perhaps be discussed in Metropol as suggested. Suggesting that this is discussed in Metropol is no different to you suggesting I go to Digital Spy! This forum site was once a regularly visited and frequently commented upon site. Some subjects now are not discussed for days and then they just slide off the front page altogether. What I am saying is, talk about Coke by all means, but why can't everyone input more and make this site interesting again. That is all I am saying.

Yes, but why should Coke not be discussed? If anything you're encouraging people to post less by telling them not to post and bugger off to Metropol. Posting about Coke doesn't stop you posting anything else. At least it's keeping the topic on the front page is it not?

Thing is (as has been pointed out thousands of times in 'The Newsroom'), his forum is actually about discussing the different types of presentation seen on television. Therefore the presentation of Coca Cola adverts is more valid on here than what films are being shown for a third year running.

I think this specific forum can probably house both - the coca cola adverts will be on television this Christmas after all, so does still fit into it

Based on previous years I'd imagine we can expect the usual "TBA" listings pullouts in the newspapers towards the end of next week.

We aren't talking about Coke. We're discussing the presentational merits of their Christmas television adverts.

If you'd like to start a discussion about a different aspect of Christmas presentation on the telly, no-one's going to stop you - just as you aren't going to stop anyone talking about the Coca-Cola ads if they want to. Okay?
