Apologies if this has been mentioned already...
The Snowman is to be remade at a cost of £2 million, for next November as part of Channel 4's 30th anniversary. Also "I'm Walking In The Air" is to be replaced... but on the positive side, many of the staff who made the original will be reforming for this version.

I've got a feeling the music will be some form of Walking in the Air remix, that music is what makes The Snowman.

Nice to see - thought it might have happened for the 25th, so not too surprising. Probably for the best it's being kept to TV too - though from that article I suspect anyone wanting to make a big screen version might have had the idea rejected.
C4 have also announced details of the Alternative Christmas message - though nothing really of note this year except they're doing two, and neither are against The Queen. The first is a "plea for tolerance" from four people from C4 documentaries, whilst the second is from the Educating Essex Headmaster.

C4 also to air trailers on New Years Eve at every Tube Station and various railway stations.

The Guardian article hints at a possible 3D cinema version of the remake.

Although ITV1's idents aren't as festive as many would have liked, they have been well made with the characters fitting will into their surroundings, and a variety of different animations used on the idents, trailers, IPPs etc.
A tad better produced than the mid 00s sparklies over the logo.

They haven't been well made at all. The characters don't move with the camera for example, they have just been placed on top of the existing idents without a thought to what it looks like.

Indeed, "well made" would have been putting them inside the dodgems, as an example.

The sound effect on the break bumper of the present falling off the logo sounds more like a microphone being pulled out

Online TV guides say it's
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
followed by
Hocus Pocus
. Both are pretty inoffensive movies. Were one or both of those not originally scheduled?
Channel 4 have had to change their afternoon film today. Not sure why?
