The last time I checked, they still do that.

I have no access to find out now they're no longer on DSat

The episode of Top of the Pops on BBC Four this evening is the Christmas special. It has a 50 minute slot but the iPlayer version is only 30 minutes. It also has a BBC One ident for some reason.

That's because that's the episode from 23rd December they showed yesterday. As you may have spotted, the Christmas Day episode was in an hour long slot in the schedules even though it's only fifty minutes long, with Sounds Of The Seventies filling the first ten minutes. The same will be true of the Boxing Day show on Thursday.

Going back a few pages, of course they're going to do New Year from London, that's where Big Ben is!

Yes, and the picture and sound quality is terrible.

Don't know if anyone was watching Essexmas on ITV2 (can't believe I actually was!) but they played out a nice promo with 3 of the tin soldiers for the Essex website, twitter and facebook pages twice. First time had the announcer reading out comments, but the second time it played out announcer-free. Here it is

Has anyone else been watching Home For The Holidays on Channel 4? Kind of just a family version of Big Brother!

Interesting that the spin off show is online instead of on E4.

I've had it on in the background. At one point spin-off shows would be on the red button, then they moved to sister channels and now this one has ventured online. I suppose it depends on what the channel want to promote. No adverts on Extra Stuffing but it is still only on for 25 minutes rather than being a full 30 minutes or open ended.

As is often the case, the spin off show is better television than the main show. They just did a behind the scenes bit and it looks like quite an expensive production. Seems that it isn't really popular though from what I have heard. Oh well. They should have put it on a bit earlier.

When I first heard the basics of the programme, I got excited by it.
Watching it has made me wish I'd never heard about it. I think for me, it's the reality environment that is the problem, I couldn't give a rats arse if they get on or what they're like, but from the bits that I've seen, I have liked the pre recorded games (from the day) and the member challenge (cant think of the name of it), but not much else.

Oops, I'm an idiot. It wasn't actually that part of the show I saw, it was a performance by a band that must have been from before they went colour. It was on for several minutes and so I figured that it was only in black and white or something.

Loving Comedy Central's Christmas presentation - especially this video and this one.

This is interesting. How Christmas TV schedules are put together.
