Yes, the Film 4 christmas idents have been used previously, and can be seen on The ident Gallery.

Possible they've been used in previous years. More4 have in the past had Panto characters introduce their idents - but that's a few years ago.

A shame though C4 themselves do nothing - they used to at least change their breakbumpers, but even some poor Text Santa style effort with regular idents tweaked on the cheap would be better than nothing.

I disagree. I think doing nothing is better than cocking up a sequence with some post-production snow or stars.

Anyone know who's doing the Beebs NYE's countdown to 2012 coverage this year? I think Myleene Klass did it last year.

And what town or city is it coming from this year? Oh London. Again! Surely moving this programme around the country each year would be a cheap way to appease people accusing the BBC of having a London bias. Certainly cheaper than moving a load of programmes to Manchester.

Or instead of watching the TV you could, you know, go out like most people.

You mean watch a BBC Big screen somewhere? It's an interesting idea. What are they showing?

Well, I guess, but I meant more like, out in the pub with your mates, standing outside in the freezing cold watching the local firework display and then rushing back inside for the first pint of the new year.

Oh, I don't drink. If I was going to go out and drink, it certainly wouldn't be on New Years Eve. There are 364 better days for that.
