Gut feeling BBC Alba is using last years package, anyone know if S4C is playing theirs yet?

Might that have been the last studio Blue Peter on BBC1 then?

I expected CBBC to continue another week, but no - it's just the soon to be standard daytime fair on BBC1 in the afternoon (not even kids movies) and Coast filling a bit of the slack on BBC2.

Has it been confirmed the BBC1 CBBC block is disappearing in the new year? (or BP - not sure which you meant)

I must admit, after seeing the bubbles ITV1 ident, the addition of the helpers has been done beautifully.
In the bubbles one, a helper floats onto the screen in a bubble filled with snow, it bursts, and the snow and helper land on the logo.

I think that these sort of idents should have been used in the run up to the text Santa launch, developing into a snowy world. I'd love to think that this is what is planned with full snow themed idents from Christmas Eve, though I doubt it very much.

No it hasn't. You'd know if it has.

As for ending it this week, as has been mentioned before Blue Peter and Newsround are now the only kids shows shown on BBC1 first, which is why now when there's a Bank Holiday they do an extra BP on Wednesday so there are still two shows for the CBBC Channel to put in their usual slots at the weekend. Presumably this also means that when the CBBC Channel isn't able to show them at the weekend, they don't do them on BBC1. That's my theory anyway.

It is far too early, though, the schools probably won't even have broken up by next Tuesday. This episode is being repeated on Christmas Day on BBC2, mind.

That's what I thought. Brekkie's post read (to me) as if that was the last studio BP on BBC1 full stop, rather than this year.

Moving swiftly on!

It is pretty unusual that there's no CBBC on BBC1 in the week leading up to Christmas (indeed over the whole festive period, apart from a couple of 9am Shaun the Sheeps that are probably just there as fillers). Even BBC2 is over by 0900 most mornings. Clearly gearing up for the future. CBBC channel is running a promo saying that Christmas officially launches there at 4pm this Friday, which fits in with the low profile on BBC1 and 2 over the next few weeks.

Yep Lambie Nairn did well with that they were told to do, and they do look good.... but not as full Christmas idents. Like you said if these were just the first stage and we were still getting new idents soon then that would be fine, but I have a feeling that's it now until 1st Jan!

Also, has anyone seen Beach, Market, Sunflowers, Buildings, Pavement Art or Lake with the text santa characters on? So far I have seen Bubbles, Garden, Fountains, Dodgems, Basketball, Snakes and Ladders and Bike with the edited versions

Comedy Central and Comedy Central extra have launched their Christmas presentation today, no idents. Just festive stings and endboards.

Don't forget - as in previous years - Buildings is reserved for the news, so hasn't been edited.

Just saw post #1 in this thread. Definitely think we had better offerings from the big two last year.

Yes but in previous years they had a brand new ident as their christmas ident so it was different.

RTÉ One, RTÉ Two, TV3, 3e and TG4 in Ireland still haven't launched Christmas presentation compared to some UK channels which have Christmas pres for 2 weeks! RTÉ and TG4 will probably launch its Christmas pres on the 17th with TV3 being the latest as usual on the 19th.
