Overall, it's an odd concept, but it works well. ITV1 should take note.
I'm surprised at how well the Nail Polish ident music works with a christmas ident. Do like the whole package. So far its probably my second fave after BBC2
I'm very impressed, and love the loom of the package by the itv2 this year, a bit of faith in itv has been restored.
The lipstick music works nicely with the animation of the logo opening out, though I as always would like some music a bit more festive.
As for itv1, I don't understand why they haven't created a snowy background such as the trailers for text Santa with the logo either in standard position or as on the break bumpers as the helpers animations work on them both well. It feels like after the past couple of years that we've ended up back in 2003 with things on the standard idents. Nice to see bicycles back after a while before piers morgan though.
When I read about text Santa braning,I thought that the idents could run across all itv channels, set in the snowy world created by lambie nairn/aardman, with logos amended for each channel and promote the charity event across the whole network whilst introducing shows. As I'm so wrong, I'm glad itv2 has made the effort.
Has anyone seen any of the other ITV1 edited idents apart from Dodgems, Fountains and Bike? They are the only 3 I've seen so far, and they seem to be the only 3 people have recorded and capped.

Any idea if Channel 5 are going to do anything? They are normally very good at christmas pres.
Their's did launch a week after everyone else's last year. That would only be 17th Dec, hardly cutting it fine!
Loved the robins from 2009, one my favourite Christmas packages in recent years.
The 17th looks to be a good bet as they are also fully launching their ad campaign for Celebrity Big Brother 2012 that day. (there have already been teasers over the weekend)
I know that times have changed, but it's a shame that today they've aired the Christmas Blue Peter Special. Such a strong Christmas tradition of bbc's in my view that I always remember for being Christmas Eve (or there abouts), but is now aired slightly less than two weeks before the big day. I feel a tad Christmassy now though.
It ended with 'o come all ye faithful' being sung in the entrance hall of media city, and ended with the shot of the nativity scene and the silver glittery ship.
Might that have been the last studio Blue Peter on BBC1 then?
I expected CBBC to continue another week, but no - it's just the soon to be standard daytime fair on BBC1 in the afternoon (not even kids movies) and Coast filling a bit of the slack on BBC2.
