Well there hasn't been for 20 years! Very Happy

I think Victoria will be ITV's flagship Christmas Day drama.

ITV are still being killjoys on Christmas Day. I remember when ITV had an amazing Christmas Line-Up but now it's full of soap's and drama. Do ITV want us depressed at Christmas? If i was them I would have some variety in the evening and not Christmas Soap that will make us upset on Christmas.

Also I say's on the New Years Eve it's Ant and Dec Saturday Night Takeaway but New Years Eve is on a Sunday.

I expect EastEnders at 9pm will be more depressing than anything on ITV.

Except for the year they ran Millionaire in its prime on Christmas Day, there hasn't been an 'amazing line up' on ITV on Christmas Day for about 30 years.

A half hour episode of Saturday Night Takeaway on New Years Eve? Is it 2002?

But ITV loves to make people depressed. They never asked Greg Scott to host , They cancel good shows and ITV never even listen to their viewers.

I guess in terms of advertising revenue, the most lucrative time for ITV is the run-up to Christmas Eve.

Whenever they have tried something different on Christmas Day over the years, they almost always lose the ratings battle to BBC One. Like it or not, their ratings winners are Emmerdale and Corrie and as long as that remains the case, we're not going to see any changes to ITV's formula. Their only other big Christmas Day success in recent years was Downton Abbey- and that show is of course no longer in production.

Anyways I think this Christmas Schedule is fake

My reason is because it says for New Years Eve (18:20 - Ant and Dec Saturday Night Takeaway)

But New Years Eve is on a Sunday

So I think the Schedule is fake.

Might not be but that's my opinion.

No late BBC news on Xmas eve or Xmas day (while the 20 minutes of to be annouced should allow it to be placed on xmas year there is nothing obvious to move on xmas day to fit it in and the weather has been scheduled so it may be deliberate).
In other news it looks like Only Connect is returning to Mondays starting New Years day

Might surprise you to learn viewers don't actually come first in the TV stakes. Advertisers have dibs, the programmes just provide an audience for the adverts, as its that that makes the money. You sitting on your arse in front of Emmerdale doesn't in itself pay ITV's bills, what actually does you is sitting on the sofa watching adverts for B&Q, a carpet cleaner and whatever's on offer at Lidl this week and then going and buying them. This makes the campaigns successful so they spend more money at ITV who can spend it on more programmes to create an audience for more adverts.
