A bit of entertainment..
Have a look here for this thread, last year.

It's almost exactly the same!

That thread finished on 6th Dec. Presumably we all had our Christmas TV Guides by then.

The early Christmas TV guides in the newspapers should be out on 24th or 25th November I suspect which is just 2 weeks away.
The BBC must certainly now be in the early stages of scheduling for Christmas now as they are up too week 49 on the BBC Press Office website, just 2 weeks before the Christmas fortnight itself Very Happy

I love that the Christmas idents stay on air for much longer now, and appear a few days earlier to get you in the mood. When will they appear this year?

It's good they are on more than 3 days, but I think the BBC began them too early last year - about a week before Christmas.

Personally I say from no earlier than the 21st through to New Year is ideal.

With Christmas Day on the Sunday this year, they could crop up on the BBC as early as the Monday before, though I'd leave it to the Thursday or Friday if it was me.

Depends when their Christmas programmes begin I suppose, though there is no reason why in the week before hand they could just use the Christmas idents for Christmas specials, then begin using them continuosly from say Christmas Eve.

ITV and C4 usually wait till Christmas Eve, while Five are normally first to put up the decorations!

Didn't the BBC start their Christmas presentation on a Friday once? I much prefer it to the old days when they would wait until Christmas Eve and it would be over by Boxing Day. Does anybody know who made the decision to extend the number of days for Christmas presentation and why?

I doubt they will start as early as the 17th December.

Ok, previously they have started on a Saturday, but they will have to drop back at some point or else they will get earlier and earlier every year!

Well according to Digital Spy, the Christmas bumper issues go sale from Saturday 3rd December and the BBC will be issuing a complete rundown to this year's Christmas telly from next Monday 21st November.
The rough early guides in the papers should be coming out next Thursday 24th November, so not much longer to go now Smile
