An interesting one, Christmas Eve this year is on a Saturday, first time since 1994.

So do you think we'll see a Saturday type schedule, or will the soaps get an outing?

It also means the GMTV Christmas Special will end up on the 23rd December.

What will happen to the omnibus of Eastenders this year? Surely they wont show it during the day ASWELL as episodes in the evening? Here is what I now reckon Christmas Day will be like.:

8.30 CBBC Christmas Cracker
10.00 Christmas Day Service
11.00 Morecambe and Wise
12.00 FILM: The Princess Diaries
1.50 BBC News
2.00 Top of the Pops Christmas Party
3.00 The Queen
3.10 Dear Father Christmas
4.00 The Snow Queen
5.00 Songs of Praise: The Nations Favourite Carols
5.45 BBC News
5.55 EastEnders
6.30 My Family
7.00 Doctor Who
8.00 EastEnders
8.40 FILM PREMIERE: Calendar Girls
10.30 BBC News
10.40 French and Saunders Christmas Show
11.20 Christmas With Jonathan Ross
12.20 FILM: Are You Being Served?
1.50 Christmas Epilogue
2.00 News 24

CONFIRMED: Songs of Praise (announced by Pam Rhodes last week).
CONFIRMED: Doctor Who (definitely on Christmas as Songs of Praise)
CONFIRMED: The Snow Queen (Produced by transmission times TBA)
CONFIRMED: Christmas Day EastEnders

Here is my view on how the BBC Christmas Day schedules should look like:

BBC1:
...6.00pm What Not to Wear Christmas Special.

Good God man! What a terrible schedule that would be with such an atrocious programme like that on. People were furious when Ground Force got a Xmas Day special a few years back. Why should Trinny and Susannah earn a special? Unbelievable!

I swear I heard the BBC1 announcer say that there are two new episodes of As Time Goes By at Christmas too!

I must be the only one on here for whom the prospect of Doctor Who sandwiched between two hour long episodes of Eastenders on Christmas Day sounds an utterly dreadful prospect.

I don't think I'll be in the mood for intelligent sci-fi combined with Nana Moon choking on the Christmas turkey and Alfie topping himself. What was the other treat, oh yeh, 'Sweeney Todd' - the story of a fictional barber and serial killer from the mid 19th century - how very festive. Perhaps the BBC's Christmas entertainment could be sponsored by Rennie instead of ITV this year.

I'm sure the schedule will be better than that but any chance of a more cheery Stars in Their Eyes Christmas Special on the other side ? Very Happy

As it does every year you mean? ITV don't care, the advertisers have all their money spent at Christmas. They hardly ever make as big of an effort as the BBC who usually pull out all the stops.

Here's an idea, this is what I do every xmas, watch the stuff you want to eg only fools, doctor who when there on... but eastenders is on simply leave the room/turn the tv off watch a dvd, or read a book. Surprised
