I take it the Hogmannay (forgive spelling) event will be broadcast on BBC1 National as last year then? Jools on BBC2?

No BBC1 England have got:
New Year Live
Saturday 31st December 2005 23:35 to 00:25
Natasha Kaplinsky hosts the big countdown to the New Year live from Central London. She is joined by special guests from the worlds of entertainment, news and sport, including Nell McAndrew, Billy Bragg, Katherine Jenkins and the London Gospel Choir. There's a fireworks display lighting up the sky over the Thames and the best of the Scottish Hogmanay celebrations live from Edinburgh. Plus a chance to see how other parts of Britain and the rest of the globe are welcoming in the New Year.

I'm overjoyed there is a Top of The Pops Xmas Special this year with Steve Wright!!! 7.30 until 9.10!

This is quite an interesting read, looking back at last year's Christmas Day specials
http://www.offthetelly.co.uk/features/christmas/logs/2004.htm
Interesting now to compare 2004 with 2005. Notice no Big Impression this year for the first time in years, also no family animation (I suppose Creature Comforts on ITV1 takes over from that now), also no 'Noel's Christmas Presents type show.
Would you say this year's schedule is a better prospect than in 2004, now you've been reminded of what was on last year?

Which idiots decided:
a) to schedule the Morecambe & Wise Christmas special at 9am;
b) not to close down BBC2 on New Year's Eve?

Christmas schedules haven't been that bad in all honesty. Mind you, We were too busy playing quiz games and eating mince pies to care much.
Saw the first part of The Two Ronnies Sketchbook and my Aunt said she felt awkward watching it knowing that poor old Ronnie B has died. A good compilation of clips nonetheless.
EastEnders were back to their continuity flaws tonight - what with Kat suddenly having her makeup back on after she left the Vic with Alfie.
Anyway, a Happy Boxing Day to you all and I hear snow is predicted for the latter part of the festive week so more repeats on the old TV to keep us entertained then.
