I'm pleased BBC 2 are having their late night comedy repeats again i.e. Extras.

I'm not. It is very lazy of them. Extras was shown just a few months ago, I think it is too soon. If they must fill the schedule with repeats, I'd rather they show some older stuff; classic films, old "Play for Today", classic Whistle Test, a "themed" night - anything but lazy repeats of recent Buzzcocks, Room 101, Later.... and Extras.

I expect something a bit special on BBC2 at Christmas, but over the past 3 or 4 years they just haven't tried.

For nostalgia, ceefax pages all the way, with oracle screens on ITV, but for our 21st century, 24 hour lives, I say filler programmes, student work, independant productions, or repeats of the day's more interesting and unique programming, perhaps make it a strand, "Today's Specials", and why not give it idents of the 2's watching BBC Two idents on TV?

Does anyone know anything or nothing or no one (my Vicky Pollard impression) about fives christmas line up? They usually have the same ol same ol...

Unfortunately so, although there is the 4000th Episode of Home & Away which is going to be fantastic.

Oddly it hasn't recieved much hype at all in comparison to the Neighbours 20th.

And it does nothing to shake off BBC2's reputation as the worst offender for repeats.

I expect the small amount of the population viewing at that time would rather have a repeat of an actual programme than pages from Ceefax. And if they want Ceefax, they can just press the text button over the programme, or am I missing the point here ?

Well said - completly agree!

As for the Radio Times - it's been available in Wales since at least Monday actually Jez (well, WHSmiths in Wrexham anyway!).

Well im talking about the region in Wales which I live in (South Wales) and it still wasnt on sale yesterday. I asked in W H Smith and she said they expected it in yesterday but it didnt arrive due to some delay. Ive not been out yet but it might have come in this morning.

Do TV Times use the same cover every year?

Radio Times finally on sale down here, nearly a week after it went on sale in London.

I have to say I prefer TV Times' front cover as opposed to RadioTimes.

Looking forward to 'Bring Back the Christmas Number 1' (Channel 4, 10pm). However, I do feel this has a Justin Lee Collins on a mission feel about it.

I just hope they've planned it better this time.

The New Year schedule is in the guide published in The People today - but with a few gaps.

Nothing spectacular at all - same old New Year's Eve programming. C4 seem to have given up on it - they always used to have an alternative New Year show.

C4 have AFI 100 Years, 100 Quotes on NYE, with BBC1 airing their rip-off format TV Moments 2005. It looks like there won't be a "100 Greatest TV Treats 2005" from C4 - nothing scheduled and no voting open on the C4 Greatest web page.
