I think it's more the case 12m don't want to watch the mindless rubbish put on to fill the schedules while the other channels serve up the soaps!

Personally I'd like to see all soaps take a break from Christmas till after New Year, but then again I'd also like to win the lottery!

I wonder whether ITV1 will consider premiering Harry Potter 2 on Christmas Day, as generally they don't put out their big films in the same way the BBC do.

As for schedules - hopefully BBC1 will put the emphasis on Doctor Who rather than EastEnders on Christmas Day. Is there another special of The Vicar of Dibley aswell?

ITV1 - we all said last year Ant and Dec should get their own Christmas special. I'd also expect to see Creature Comforts and a big drama premiere of one of ITV's big hitters, probably Midsomer Murders. I hope they don't have Parkinson - never seen the point of his Christmas Day show!

Also read this week that the Corrie cast are filming a Christmas panto for ITV!

C4 usually have something different. As with ITV, I doubt they'll have a big movie premiere (they are now trailing for the 2nd Lord of the Rings film!), but perhaps a repeat of something like Elizabeth would be an idea, if not for C4, it be perfect for More4 on Christmas/Boxing day.

LOL there is probabaly more chance of you winning the lottery than that happening!

I dont think soaps should take a break over Christmas, but they shouldnt go OTT, they usually hype them up and the episodes are a disappointment.

I heard that the X Factor final might be on Christmas Eve, and if they are going to lose 1 act each Saturday until then it works out that way.

The winner of X Factor is appearing at G-A-Y on 17 December, so the final won't be on Christmas Eve

Well in that case they are going to have to get rid of 2 acts one week unless they have 3 acts in the final

Yes and No.

No - the Two Ronnies didn't produce the show themselves - a production team did it for them.

Yes - there is a Christmas special lined up. It was recorded on 5th July.
