I only have one problem with that. Its the fact that you've put itv now have the queen's speech.
Where for years BOTH BBC One and ITV have both shown the queens speech at 3pm. BBC Two show it later in the evening, and channel 4 (usually) show an ulternative christmas message. Last year it was Sharon Osbourne, the year previous Ali G.

Does anyone know who will be doing it this year on Four?? Haw about Avid Merrion. I can imagine........... 'Hello to you viewers, it is me Avid Merrion. Oh, I F****n love Christmas, just like I love my balls, and Vanessa felts Tats and flab.' Or something like that. All the usual stuff he comes out with.
Who are the likely candidates for the alternative Christmas message this year??
Oh, and talking of the Queens XMAS message to the nation at 3pm. Why is it that either BBC ONE or ITV1 are 1/2 second ahead of the other channel at playing the message. I think its BBC ONE who are mostly ahead of ITV1. I just wonder why there is a very short but noticeable time difference in showing it. Do others notice this??

Also remember there's no regional news on Christmas Day. I don't think those regional news teams would like the idea of coming in.
There's generally no Nightscreen or full length ITV Morning News either over the christmas period
Isn't there a nightscreen over christmas? What do they sue to fill with then?
I dont really know about nightscreen, but it's been tradition for over ten years now that over the Christmas period that the ITV Morning News goes out at 5.55am. Usually overnight they tend to show more films and more crappy cartoons, such as James Bond Junior, I seem to recall. But I assume they only remove it as more people might be watching or that they think the idea of having Nightscreen on until 5.55am is ridiculous, or the people at Nightscreen just want a Christmas break.
So effectively what they could do is have a CiTV classic slot in the nite, with say CiTV tots programming before GMTV at 5am.
I'm not sure how early tots get up at christmas.
I wouldn't say they show tots shows, more really for older kids or insomniacs. But from what the BBC did a couple of years ago, quite early as they were constantly showing Disney films at 5.30am most days.
