Last year I think ITV2 had the usual mix of Judge Judy and soap repeats with a sprinkling of christmas themed repeats. Nobody watches ITV2, BBC3, BBC 4 etc on Xmas Day though anyway.
I wonder what the ITV News Channel, another channel that won't have much of an audience on christmas day, will show, any guesses on that one?
The schedule on most digital channels on Christmas Day is rather poor, as they know no-one is watching. But earlier I was watching an old tape which had a Boxing Day schedule for ITV2 for 1998, which was a good mix of Christmas Day's best ITV. The trailer for it even looked good, they even used the music they used on the NPU Trailers for ITV, considering this was the time when ITV2 only had 700 viewers. But the schedule went like this, and to be honest it looked quite good
6.00pm Emmerdale
7.00pm Coronation Street
8.00pm Heartbeat
9.00pm Jack and The Beanstalk (ITV Panto)
Personally I wouldn't give the soaps an hour each. BBC One can afford to do an hour of eastenders as its two half hour slots, and only one show, where as itv have two.
I would either have an emmerdale hour long on christmas eve, then corrie on christmas day. Or both for half an hour christmas eve and maybe 45 minutes christmas day. But not back to back.
itv didn't do a panto last year did they?
Does anyone know if they have commissioned one for this year?
It was great to watch, obviously going to a real one is better.
Perhaps having the chuckle brothers on, who i was surprised to find absolutely hilarious last year in panto.
How do they do the itv pantos?
Are they one offs?
Do they record them at the beginning of december?
WHere do they record them, and who do they record it infront of?
Apparently World Idol has been confirmed and will be featuring 11 winners of Pop Idol around the world, Will Young will compete in front of a panel of international judges, Simon Cowell is bound to be there. There are to be 2 shows, the first on Christmas Day, with the results show over the New Year period. Apparently the shows will be recorded from London, so question is will Ant & Dec present, and will it go out straight after the Queen at 3.10pm or later in the day.
Also, will we have Celebrity Millionaire on Christmas Day again this year, or do we think ITV will give this one a rest now ?
They have said that a date has not yet being classified, though late december for the first show, with the results show in the new year period.
They have also said that many of the hosts will have rolls. So I'm not sure whether it means that they will all be taking place, and do different links, or talk to their own competitor after.
It would be nice to have it totally led by ant & dec, the hosts of the orginal show. To show the world what our boys have got, it would be nice of them to do a sketch, especially if there are different judges.
I wonder what they will do about judges, well simon will most probably be there, but who else?
They will most probably do the first show, announce the phone lines, have a mid week reminder, and then announce the winner live across the world the week after.
Perhaps they could do it like eurovision so that the country that wins this years goes on to present the next one (if there will be one!)
There are also reports about a celebrity pop idol. Don't know how it would work, and if its a UK or US programme.
As for millionnaire, it'll be there. itv have no decent entertainment shows to put out, except for saturday night takeaway, but ant & dec won't do live tv on christmas day!
I have a friend at Granada and have had a little chat with him, and since that chat, i've got my own itv1 christmas day schedule,

My schedule is a mixture of my friend's information and my own guesswork, it probably won't be exactly the same, but quite similar, the prime time schedule is more accurate
Frank's show at present is on a Monday night at 10.30PM and usual gets around 3.5 - 5 million viewers, which is average for that timeslot, like I said none of that schedule is certain yet, Corrie is likely to be on a little bit earlier to compete with Del Boy, but the rest of the prime time shows are likely to be on at around that time
