Surprised at that, I'd say that's very disappointing - last couple of years have seen much better ratings, last year Wallace & Gromit got 16 million and Doctor Who got 13 million. Several million simply weren't watching TV this year as opposed to last year, I thought Doctor Who would get even more than last time.

And way smaller than 2001 when Only Fools got 21 million.

I would hope they're just so low with it being the overnights, and that those numbers will go up quite a bit with the later results. Otherwise the Doctor would seem a bit of a letdown to have only gotten 10 million given the insane amount of hype and promotion around it!

Then again, I'm guessing the figures for BBC HD are recorded seperately, and the iplayer won't be in there, both of which are heavily plugged now on BBC One and presumably take some of the number. Razz

Certainly I watched it on iPlayer, as 6 was around the time my family went home - I didn't want to miss the start!

I think Mattel released a line of them a few years ago. Wink

Would imagine that ITV would be a bit disappointed with that - Shrek the Halls was a repeat from last year and was also shown a few days before Christmas got more than Emmerdale

Its like people turn to BBC1 for what ever reason about 2pm and then lose all ability to turn over for the rest of that day!

Considering the massive hype I'm really surprised Doctor Who didn't come 2nd...if not 1st!. Apparently it's even 2 million down on last year.
