Am I imagining it or did I just see a break bumper on Channel 4 with the old Xmas ident from about ten years ago?

I saw it today before the Christmas episode of The Simpsons. It was the break bumper from their last package.

Why? Why on earth did they recycle the box look for a single bumper?

They've been using all the old christmas bumpers (I've seen both red and blue backgrounds). Very bizarre though considering they usually put some kind of christmas background behind the regular bumpers at this time of year.

Just a question, who is this annoying, strict sounding woman who is heard on all trailers advertising christmas on bbc one?

What's wrong with her? She wasn't announcing in 1974?

Having noticed from The TV Room that Sky Movies has Xmas idents this year, I was watching out for them on the Sky Movies channels yesterday.

Around 6:30pm I put the Sky+ box on TVEi (Spanish channel), and the ident preceding the cookery programme that began at 6:30pm didn't look Christmassy to me. Snag is, I haven't checked out their idents away from Christmas, so I don't know what their standard idents are like to compare what I saw yesterday evening with.

Has anyone else been looking out for Xmas pres on any of the international channels on Sky Digital?

Anyone know if S4C did anything this year?

I don't see the point in an international channel having Christmas presentation when most countries don't do Christmas.
Also TVE does usually have Christmas pres, although they just add snow (2006) and sparkles (2007 & 2008).

it was a lot better last year IMO. This year the camera is basically trucking past the bottom of a White tree in a White room with different coloured presents appearing. I thought they would have made some to blend in with their good normal idents such as a trees lights blinking with voice or something like that

So I wasn't the only one who saw the boxed tree bumper then, how odd considering the last couple of years (as mentioned above) they have used Christmas backgrounds behind the normal animations.

Perhaps someone put the wrong tape in the wrong case & they picked them up by mistake?

They were certainly using the Christmas break bumpers (that nobody really notices) a bit before Christmas, so I would guess it's a mistake more than anything.

With C4 though even if they don't make idents, surely it wouldn't take much to festive up the trailer endboards and break bumpers a bit more.

I've been watching more festive cr ... er .... entertainment than usual, on account of having the flu. Who on earth is that announcer on G.O.L.D.? Sounds like the work experience girl. Terrible.

In Greece we have the following:

ERT (ET1, NET & ET3)

Some of you may remember a thread on here about the ERT channels being rebranded by Red Bee Media back in June of this year. I don't know if the Christmas ident was designed at the same time but a big well done to whoever is responsible.

ET1 and NET are both using this Christmas ident. It is used before each program and uses the following slogans: Καλές Γιορτές (Seasons Greetings), Καλά Χριστούγεννα (Merry Christmas), Καλή Χρονιά (Happy New Year) and finally Χρόνια Πολλά (Many Years).

Just a little background in case you're thinking why a boat. The boat is a Greek custom of Christmas and a lot of homes decorate small Christmas boats as well as Christmas trees (which are considered an imported foreign custom).

ET3 (based in Thessaloniki, not Athens) are not using the ident but along with the other ERT channels have decorated their on screen logo for Christmas.

ANT1

ANT1 have a range of Christmas idents including this one. The others are the same but replace the raindeer with other symbols of Christmas including a Christmas boat, a Christmas tree and an elf. ANT1 have not decorated their on screen logo this year.

Mega Channel

Mega have one Christmas ident this year which is Elvis Presley singing Christmas Megalicious . I'm not impressed to be honest and Mega also haven't decorated their on screen logo this year.

Star Channel

Star Channel have added snow to their on screen logo and have added snow to all their program trailers. They also have this ident.

Other Channel

ALTER have added a star to their on screen logo but no seasonal idents or break bumpers. ALPHA have added a Christmas tree to their break bumpers but have not decorated their on screen logo. MAKEDONIA TV have added Καλά Χριστούγεννα (Merry Christmas) to their idents and break bumpers but have not decorated their on screen logo yet (they usually add a Santa hat around New Year as that is when Santa visits Greece). Finally SKAI have made no effort this year.

When it was solely a European channel, BBC Prime always used to have Christmas idents (in general they were the previous year's BBC One idents). The practise was stopped when the channel launched in Israel, the Middle East and the UAE.
Images of these don't seem to be easy to find on the web, but a now non-live page of TV Ark has the following CBBC Prime Christmas ident on it:
