Have you looked at page 2?

That's odd I was replying to BBC five's message. Confused

Of course this isn't the first time BBC One has used penguins and red baubles in their Christmas symbol:

Although this year's ident is a lot more fun than 'Bauble with Penguins'.

I hope we do see a return of Snowball to air alongside Penguins. Snowball would be more suitable leading into news/serious programming whilst Penguins will better suit introducing comedies and dramas.

A tweak of the logo there and they'd be sorted for this year.

I liked those couple of years after the balloon launched when they forgot all about the branding and just attempted to make the best Christmas ident and slap a BBC ONE logo on top.

Or maybe they were trying to do what they did before the "1" came along - that is, free up the Christmas idents from corporate branding rules?

Obviously it was decided that approach didn't work, with the balloon featuring in all Christmas idents from 1999.

Ahhhhh!

I look forward to getting Christmas cards with penguins on.

Yes, what time do BBC 2 launch their christmas identity?

Around the same time I would think.

AARGH! Strictly Come Dancing starts at 6:10pm, and BBC2 also has a junction at the same time! As happened in 2005.

Anyone with access to the internal schedules, can you hint as to whether or not we'll have chance to "switch over" between idents?

Might be a chance, since BBC2 is like 2 to 3 minutes behind BBC1. I'll try anyways..
