Christmas Presentation

Last year the "next" caption before SCD wasn't sparkled, but that's when the ident was first seen.

The stings did not start until after SCD, whereas they started in the same junction as the first TX of the ident before.

Just seen the first Christmas promo endboard on UTV. They must be using network presentation this year as it had the fairy with a magic wand create sparkles over the UTV logo. The promo was for Saturday night's lineup.

Another one aired during This Morning for "The Old Curiosity Shop". On watching it again, I'm not quite sure if it is a fairy, it just looks like flying sparkles! Although strangely the same animation takes place in the actual programme footage when the title is appearing in the box.

Well the BBC1 and 2 xmas idents have been introduced on the third Saturday in December for around 5 years now - why break from the trend?

But no, I do agree tomorrow is too early - ten days before Christmas itself.

I wasn't expecting the idea to be executed in such a realistic way!

The super-upbeat music is a very good improvement on last year's version, IMO. But, we still have the Snowball alongside this too, which is nice.

One thing about these streams though, they don't do any of the sequences justice, compressed to oblivion like so - so I'm looking forward to seeing (and hearing) this symbol when it goes out in broadcast quality.

I see there, the central tree of red amongst the white - perhaps someone remembered that it would be good to actually use the signature colour!

Any insiders want to give any hints when it will be airing? I'd love to get my cap card ready

I'm sorry, I can't see the ident because I refuse to have RealPlayer on my machine. Anyone willing to convert it into a different format? From what I've heard it sounds impressive.

Im guessing so..Longer time period this year around. Seems a bit much just one ident shown constant for 17 days or there abouts

Well, just hope there's no Tsunami's this year then!


More fun than last year, though not sure it's more festive - but it looks like an ident which will becoming tired very fast - so launching it this weekend is just stupid. Absolutely no reason why it should launch before next Friday at the earliest.
