Just found this on the Digital Spy forums and believe it may be fake.

I've done some digging and emailed around and here is an initial primetime schedule for Christmas including the soaps!

Channel 4 is not showing Hollyoaks on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day so I won't include it. Instead, a feature length special of Hollyoaks is on Boxing Day. Strange.

Here we go then:

Christmas Eve
BBC1
6:30 Film - expected to be Shrek 1
8:00 EastEnders (35 minutes)
8:35 Eastenders' Christmas Party (65 minutes)
9:40 Absolutely Fabulous
10:10 Christmas National Lottery with Dale Winton

ITV1
7:00 Emmerdale (30 minutes)
7:30 Coronation Street (30 minutes)
8:00 The Bill (90 minutes)
9:30 Who Wants To Be a Millionaire (60 minutes)

Christmas Day
BBC1
3:20 - Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (160 minutes)
6:00 - EastEnders (30 minutes)
6:30 - To Be Announced (90 minutes)
8:00 - EastEnders (30 minutes)
8:30 - Holby (120 minutes)
10:30 - News (5 minutes)
10:35 - Film To Be Announced

ITV1
5:30 - Who Wants to Be A Millionaire? (60 minutes)
6:30 - Emmerdale (60 minutes)
7:30 - Coronation Street (30 minutes)
8:00 - To Be Announced (30 minutes)
8:30 - Coronation Street (35 minutes)
9:05 - Midsomer Murders (120 minutes)
11:05 - News (5 minutes)
11:10 - Film To Be Announced

So there's 2 episodes of EE and Corrie and an hour-long Corrie and a feature length episode of the Bill! Plus the two-hour long episode of "Holby" the Holby City and Casualty combined episode. What do you all think of this?

I love the idea of the Bill and two episodes of Corrie will be good especially if its Karen's exit etc so I'm really excited!

What do you think?

One question - why is "Holby" (presumably "Holby City") scheduled for a Saturday... I know it's Christmas Day but it's hardly Christmas Day material!

And as it's a Saturday, can we have at least ONE Christmas without bloody soap operas on nearly every channel!

No doubt Five will be the place for wall-to-wall Christmas Day soaps!

Doubt it - they won't have Family Affairs on and although they've shown Home & Away on Christmas Day before I doubt they'll do it this year as it's a Saturday. Five like to keep the Australian Friday cliffhangers on Fridays.

"Holby" is a crossover of Casualty and Holby City and the BBC hope it will form the core of the Xmas Schedule.

Well I won't be watching. But it's great that Ab Fab is back!

And why would the BBc be showing The Chamber Of Secrets when they haven't shows The Philosopher's Stone yet?

That's definetely a flaw.

They have the rights to show it but I'm sure its TPS this year.

That’s the most unimaginative schedule ever by ITV1. It’s all too normal! Xmas day is something we have ONCE a year and ITV1 are showing 4 programmes, which are on almost every day of the 365 days each year.

And I bet ITV2 is full of 'From Hell' programmes all night or 2 hours of Morse or the like! That should be on ITV3 and not on the younger ITV2 BTW!

I think its way too early to have Xmas tv schedules, schedules are usually only confirmed 2-3 weeks in advance.

And I think ITV would more likely show a 1 hour special of Corrie on Xmas Day rather than 2 separate episodes.

Guaranteed to be on sometime at Xmas:

The Snowman
A decent comedy movie (Naked Gun)
Depressing news (Iran earthquake last year)
MoTD on Boxing Day
Disney (Bedsticks and Broomknobs, Mary Poppins)
Religious twaddle (Midnight Mass etc.)
ITV crap movie (Raise The Titanic)
It's A Wonderful Life / White Christmas

Any more?

Well I watch Casualty but gave up on watching Holby City ages ago so im not keen on the idea of a crossover, and i'll doubt i'll watch on Xmas Day.

In the 1970s-mid-80s, soaps DID appear on Christmas Day but only when they would appear anyway. So what you got depended on what day Christmas fell on. Please BBC and ITV, there are 364 other days on the calendar for soaps. Following the blasphemous assault at Easter, please give us us the day off.

Read in today's paper another EastEnders Christmas Party is planned for this year, where the cast of EastEnders show that not only can't they act, they also can't sing!
