Those of you who live in Ireland or have DSat might want to watch out for UTV's Christmas idents, which normally arrive around the 8th December, though the trailers may be played out from any time round now.
Last year it was especially interesting - the ident itself was dull, but it contained a new UTV logo (even though the old one was used until 2nd January on local programmes)...Hope they don't get recycled for this year though.

They generally start appearing on Saturdays, normally the trails will go out around the same time.
So Saturday might well be that Saturday

Hope Carlton get new ones as well the Star Xmas idents ran 1999 & 2000 and if they do that again they are just lazy however not as lazy as LWT who didn't even bother in 2000. By the way does someone have LWT's 1999 Xmas ident

HTV had that generic ITV Robin walking over its logo.
God, HTV really made an effort with a stupid robin! Better than Granada's effort I suppose. Let's hope we see something good from ITV1 at Christmas this yera for once. I'm waiting to see what BBC TWO's Christmas Ident will be like, I have a feeling the purple box will change colour to green or red for Christmas spirit and the 2 had best not be yellow, I expect they won't mind the Christmas one being a different colour.
One of the best BBC TWO Christmas Idents was the 1995 one featuring Wallace & Gromit & the 1994 one.
Thanks to www.thetvroom.com for these images!

Carlton have excellent Christmas idents and it really gets you in the spirit - and they have more than one unlike the opposition. I hope the same ones get another outing this year - I presume they would, considering that the idents may be changed soon - so I doubt no new ones will be around.
The good thing is - they are truly great idents. On par with the Christmas 1999 on BBC ONE.

Hey, I like the generic ITV robin -- it was cute!
I wouldn't be surprised if the GMG North stations break off with their own idents this year -- especially if the new ones are due in very early January, an ideal time to kill off the old ones would be the end of this year!
I'm looking forward to the UTV Christmas IVC studio -- it'll be the first one I've seen since 1995

They had the robin on ITV2 last year with the logo changing colour all the time and the ring around the 2.
At least ITV2 made an effort even though they only get a couple hundred thousand viewers.
