Christmas Idents 2018

Would love to draw the curtains on Oneness.

I'm going to give it a chance - the article doesn't actually mention recording with people in them.

And even if there was - the fact they had to hire the pier and set something up on it, instead of just filming people doing everyday activities to be suggests it's not going to be a 'regular' oneness ident saying "Fair Goers, Norfolk". If it was - they could have done it last christmas season.

I think it's going to be like a mixture of these two.

Will BBC One be awful? Will Channel 5 come up with something? Will Channel 4 be the Grinch? Will ITV and BBC Two not even bother? Will anyone have some semblance of joy if Oneness continues? There's only one way to find out...

It's pretty much confirmed that BBC Two will be bothering!

Didn't we have a Oneness of some sorts for Christmas 2016 before the presentation on BBC One got murdered from January 2017 onwards.

Yes, they did. Wasn't a bad set of idents.

Talking about BBC One presentation just makes me re-evaluate my life anyway. What's the point of working in the branding industry?What's the point of a creative mind? What's the point of anything - if THIS is the best they can come up with. It just makes me genuinely depressed.

I agree for the moment in time then this was fine as a ticking box exercise to say they've done this type of idents and then move on. They effectively killed their Oneness by using the same 2 idents for the whole of January.

Wasn't that great though - Christmas puddings, a Rudolph jumper and a bald head from what I remember.

I think they had a Christmas bauble one too for sombre occasions.

To be honest, I'm more interested in what BBC Two this year what with their new look. It means they can finally use something different, the first time in years.

Not enough to go on from the images alone, but the omens look good to me.
