Except BBC ONE/TWO - they have their own dedicated threads (November 2005)

I'm convinced it will debut on the 17th. It's just got to, with the patterns of previous years and tonight's Christmas trailer premier, so early in December.

By the way Steve, looking forward to your birthday? It would be nice for you if the ident debuted on your big day wouldn't it?

I'm not that sad or stupid, but neither do I believe that they are sitting there at TV Centre twiddling their thumbs during Eastenders thinking "I wonder what ident we should put on after this? I know! we havent that Christmassy one yet...." In the multi-channel, ratings-driven world the BBC competes in I'm sure they have a pretty well thought-out promo plan, which sets-out what's to be launched and when.
You're right.

But they sit there in the Broadcast Centre twiddling their thumbs during Eastenders, and they're still not thinking "I wonder what ident we should put on after this?" Smile

This should be/probably is in the news thread but.. here's hoping 'Breakfast' has their tree arriving in good time. Razz

Lol!!! For some bizarre reason the BBC News department only seems to have a Christmas tree in the studio in the few days leading up to Christmas. Snobbery methinks!!! I agree though, it would be nice to see it sooner.

The Brekkie Xmas trees usually come in around about a fortnight before Xmas... in I think the 5 days leading up to Xmas Day, one of the trees is shifted to N24.

Hehe! This reminds me of a joke I heard: This guy goes out to work, and finds an insurance sitting on his car , arms spread out. So he asks "Hey insurance what are you doing hugging my car?", and the insurance answers "I'm not hugging, i'm a BLANKET". Laughing Laughing Laughing

What is rumored that due to the rebrand to take place next year that this year BBC will reuse the idents from last year (puddings) and the year before (snowflakes). It is also said that the puddings will do 2 yrs like the snowfalkes did.

There is a NEW ident this year. I was informed via email by someone from BBC information....although there is an embargo on what it is. The sources name features on a post I made previously.

Well somebody in another thread on another forum (that I assume works for the BBC), that BBC1's new ident will feature kids and spheres! Confused I hate these live action things I want something computer generated or CGI enhanced. I know BBC1 may well be getting a new ident but is BBC2 going to change the way their logo is displayed? The new Channel 4 idents make the 2 look very boring.

ITV are using blue and yellow sparkles on their 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets ' slides, before and after ad breaks. Have these been added just for this film, or has ITV1's Christmas pres sneaked in a bit early?

Edit: Sorry, missed your post josh205
