There is an 'ident' of sorts on S4C - Man and a woman walking away from a hotel with no vacancies, woman in some pain, bright star up in the top corner of the screen...although, slow as I am, it did take a while for me to get the clear reference; slightly odd choice of theme nonetheless

Afraid they told you wrong then...in fact they won't be airing any idents on the morning of Christmas eve cos it's all CITV/CDUK.

Right let me just tell you all straight.
ITV1 must be having their ident on 24 Dec. How I know this is because I emailed my region ITV and they replied 'ITV will be airing this years Christmas ident on the morning of Christmas eve.'

I think its an issue of money. Money is being spent on other channels etc.
I don't think BBC One really want to have Christmas idents anymore so would have been happy to use the 'snowflake' year after year but thanks to complaints from viewers (i.e. 2002 - 2003) that decision was banished (thank god!) However, we have the same trend each year with dancing kids etc.
Lets think, the last time C4 had a new Xmas ident was in 1998 before interactive and E4 and More 4 and Quiz Call and other services. That is the same for many TV companies nowadays.
Shame.

You can also still see the 2002 slide behind the "Season's Greetings" at the end!

Re: Those 2002 UTV films, it's quite strange to see that they have left the computer animated reindeer intact at the start - and at the end the Season's Greetings slide is still missing an apostrophe.
