Except BBC ONE/TWO - they have their own dedicated threads (November 2005)

I would suggest that anyone wanting to get the 'long' and 'first' version of the new BBC1 Christmas ident then you should video it before that Party Songs programme.

Its more less said that it will air from then.

You obviously missed marksi's post. Anyway, wouldn't it make more sense if both channels started playing the Christmas symbols at the same time?

But that's not how it happened last year; after BBC1 launched theirs, BBC2 gave us one last outing of Bounce.

Sky Sports (Snowmen), Sky Movies (Wreath) and Sky One (Xmas Tree Forest) have today launched their Christmas Idents.

I'll try and get some caps up later.

And to you Steve, and happy birthday for Monday. It's my birthday this month too so please feel free to send chocolate.

I would send you chocolate but at this time of year I don't want you to over indulge in all things bad for you! thanks for the Birthday greetings Dan, Happy Birthday too (whenever it is!).

Regarding the idents launching tonight: Why? The programme details until next weekend are the same as ever. Daytime BBC1 the same dull format of Bargain Hunt, Cash in the Attic etc. Evening schedules are the same too. Surely by launching the ident this weekend, they should have at least launched the festive schedules too. Last year in the week leading up to Christmas, BBC1 was fab! Great family movies, classic comedies and variations of well liked programmes. What have we this year?

Repeats of Bob Geldof in Africa (this self righteous twit makes me sick....he has millions and millions of pounds yet tells me who earns 13,000 a year that I am responsible along with everyone else for problems in Africa), Live 8 Story (more Geldof propaganda), A Tsunami documentary not to mention the endless showing of Neighbours and such like.

They should have launched the ident at 7pm NEXT Thursday. To me, that's when the schedules start to get festive.

I do love those Sky Sports snowmen, it's very clever how they match it up to actual commentary. Regarding the BBC idents I think they should have launched next Friday because there aren't really many Christmassy shows in the schedule until next week.

Presumably at 1830 then before Strictly Come Dancing and Flog It?

The only problem with this is that, unless BBC Two is running late, we will have a clash and miss the airing of one of the new idents on either BBC One or BBC Two, baring in mind that it appears that the new idents will be the first to launch, not the BBC Two Christmas Tree.
Out of interest will we see a reuse of the other BBC Two idents at some point this Christmas?
Also have we got any technical names of this year's BBC christmas idents?
