Except BBC ONE/TWO - they have their own dedicated threads (November 2005)

But what p*sses me off though is the fact that they DID have an appropriate ident - Ballet. How hard must it have been to get that out. Even Acrobats would have been suitable (in terms of the set of idents of course, not reality). Using the Christmas ident was stupid, lazy and damn right disrespectful. I know this has all been said before, but I found it so disgusting.

Some argue that Ballet shouldn't have been used due to the waves in the background.

I really hope BBC1 can move away from the whole 'kids dancing' thing this Christmas.

Hopefully so - if this is the last year of the dancers then there's a million and one dancing themed Christmas ident possibilities that do not involve kids!

Get some nice skaters doing a performance in some non-city specific outdoor arena.

To be honest I think that ice skating will be the theme of the Christmas ident this year on BBC One and as for BBC Two I wonder if we will have an actual Christams ident, that symbolises Christmas (as opposed to Ice Cube) and plays just at Christmas (unlike Snowman and Ice Cube). I do think that BBC Two will recycle all their others again and depending on the launch date, perhaps we will see Snowflake again on BBC One with the new ident as well.

It is highly unlikely that BBC1 will recycle Snowflake if money is being invested in a new pres package. The snowflake may not fit in with the promotional stings etc. I think the BBC1 ident will be a crystal ball with red reflections glistening through...... a bit like 1998's! (Only guessing, we'll have to wait and see!)

Or, considering a whole new package will be released fairly soon why bother. I really won't expect, from what I've heard, something new. Anyone for pudding?

In 2001, the final year of the balloon, the BBC1 Christmas ident was an excellent one. There are no confirmations anywhere that this is the last year of the dancers. It is speculation. I suspect a new ident will be issued, but maybe nothing spectacular.

BBC1 will definitely have a new Christmas ident this year - and it WILL feature children.

I'm afraid I don't know any more than that, though.

Because we all know the latter's reliability...

I'm afraid you'll just have to take my word for it... Wink

All I know is that a new one has definitely been filmed - so I can only assume that it'll be used this year.
