Except BBC ONE/TWO - they have their own dedicated threads (November 2005)

Ooh ooh!

Just saw an advert for Taggart, all the same except with a snowflakey sparkle bursting continually out of the ITV1 logo.

I noticed that myself for this Friday's episode, yet the Christmas appearance doesn't usually start until Christmas Eve!

Even more strange was the fact that this is just a general episode of Taggart, where as the Heartbeat Christmas Special has nothing.

It's nice that they seem to be doing something different this year, with them having the same package I was expecting that same.

Hopefully this creativity will continue over the next few years, though it all depends on how much creative control Red Bee let them have over their idents.

And going back to an earlier point, it would be nice to see ITV stick with Christmas Pres. until at least January 1st, it's so Scrooge like to end it as soon as December is over!

1 Day, 22 hours to go!

Does anyone think I'm a bit sad? Smile

On the BBC1 ident earlier today the announcer said something like, 'Well where kick starting the festive season here on the BBC from Saturday afternoon with the All time greatest Party Hits, thats the launch of our festivities on the BBC'.

I think by the sounds of it, all BBC channels will have xmas look on Sat and the BBC1 will have theres from this programme but i have no idea what time this programme starts.

Yes, that's right. The BBC1 ident debuts before that programme at 17:30 on Saturday.

BBC2's ident will debut at 18:30 before flog it. Strangely, not at 17:50 before One Man and his Dog. This also happened last year (at exactly the same times as well!) If the first one to be shown though is the 2001 tree ident, I will hit the roof!

Haven't heard anything from Four yet, which would be a shame as that potentially was the most interesting one.

I remember last year I saw the BBC One Christmas ident, purely out of coincidence, then switched over to BBC Two to see the Christmas Tree ident and thinking 'I'm sure I've seen this before'. Are you therefore certain that it was launched at 18.30 because BBC One launched there's after the news at 17.45 and so when I switched over it would have been around 17.50.
I do think that Christmas Tree will air first though, it is somewhat a BBC Two tradition!

Another new ident has aired before the Frank Skinner Show on UTV. It features a priomary school choir dressed up in Christmas outfits.

I'll put a cap up in a wee minute.
