Must admit that though I thought the new BBC Digital ad with all the heads was sickening, the Christmas version is rather nice.
Still hope the BBC don't launch their Christmas idents until - well, Christmas!

I have to agree the Christmas one is quite nice but the original makes my skin crawl!!
Well, they've been axed now (another expensive ad ditched!). The official reason is due to the number of complaints, but I suspect the current Iraq hostage situation is also a consideration.
Back on topic, and it's probably been mentioned but I notice the BBC TWO trailers have the TWO disappear towards the end then a sparkle thing spell it out on the logo.
UKTV Xmas pres is now in place, seems the same as lastyear, random channel themed images, wipes between in the 3 stripe format, ending with the coloured stripe endboard, with snow falling and forming ontop of each stripe...

I'd have no problem with them though using the ident just for Christmas specials in the week before Christmas, before using it at all junctions from Christmas Eve.
Channel Five have theirs launched at 10am this morning.
It is the same as last year with the block of ice.
I noticed they used it last night briefly before Five News aswell, its a good ident, i just hope they don't go overkill and use it for the next five years like channel 4's christmas trees!

We knew that anyway. But I see what you mean, yes. The Strictly Come Dancing trailer had all the Christmas glitter effects.
