Good schedule but I think ITV would schedule 1 hour of Corrie on Xmas Day rather than 2 separate episodes. They also normally have Who Wants to be A Millionaire on Christmas Day too
Millioanaire is past it, and I think Corrie doesn't do 1 hour episodes well. It would have a big cliffhanger on the end of the 1st to draw millions to the second. EE always do that on Christmas Day, why can't Corrie!
Yes I agree that Millionaire is past it but I think thats what ITV will put on.
A 1 hour Corrie on Christmas Day is a tradition.
I think Corrie do good 1 hour specials, when they are proper 1 hour specials, not 2 stuck together. I would prefer 1 hour rather than 2 eps, dont need a cliffhanger on Christmas Day, a lighter episode is always better.
I'm afraid I disagree, Jez. Corrie's one hour specials don't do well on Christmas day. EastEnders always has something going on on Xmas Day and the first episode gets about 10 mil then the second 15 million. Corrie can use their 2 episode "tradition" they have to their advantage like they did with the Richard/Gail cliffhanger, the two hander second episode of which got 17 million. Maybe it is Corrie's tradition to have an hour long special, but with Tony Wood holding the fort maybe he'll make changes because Kieran Roberts decision to make hour long Christmas specials was not very good IMO. Quote: a lighter episode is always better. Well, I think Corrie needs a really big dramatic storyline to climax on Christmas Day as well as the comedy of the celebrations in the houses/Rovers, i.e Karen's exit, after Steve finds out he cheated on her with Tracy AGAIN because she slept with Danny, after a huge fight. We could have the usual pint throwing or slapping in the Rovers to spice things up amongst the comedy, but if Corrie wants to stay ahead for the Christmas season, it's urgent they get a big storyline sorted!
I've made some comments about other posters Christmas schedules - so I thought I'd have a go at a BBC 1 Christmas Day line-up...

Well first I'd get rid of "Christmas" from every show lol, and then I would also move Poirot to Boxing Day - you want light entertainment, comedy and soaps on Christmas Day. Also get rid of the repeats!
Thanx for the comments. I've had a go at it again but I'm still not happy with the crucial 8pm slot.

PS: Please comment on this new schedule aswell, Thank You.
OK, if you want the 8PM slot to get 2million viewers, putting the Vault'll do just that!!
Saying that, Mel'd probably work on Christmas Day, she'll do anything for money.
I think you should split Corrie into two episodes and add the Bill and/or Heartbeat to the schedule, as they are ITV gems and are very popular!
OK, I have taken your comments and have come up with this (3rd time lucky):
(same scheduke as above except:)
19:00: The Bill
20:00: Coronation St
20:30: Creature Comforts at Christmas
20:45: Coronation St (part two)

I tried to put 'The Bill' on at 8pm but didn''t want the film to be at 9:30pm (a bit to late) so its on at 7 instead.
17.30 - 19.30 FILM - Harry Potter
19.30 - 20.45 Christmas Night Variety Style Show
20.45 - 21.45 Eastenders
Can't see the Harry Potter fanatics being too pleased at that, you've shortened the film by half an hour.
When planning these fantasy schedules, you should consider the actual running time of the films in question. Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone has a runing time of 152 minutes.
I've made some comments about other posters Christmas schedules - so I thought I'd have a go at a BBC 1 Christmas Day line-up...

My turn to comment on yours now.......
6.00 - 8.00am Breakfast
Yes I think it will be on for two hours and at 8.00am Dick and Dom will probably have a pre recorded christmas special.
At 10.00am the Morning worship will be on. Has been every year since 1993. I see no reason why that time would change.
At 11.00 there will more than likely be a Morecambe and Wise Special and the news headlines will follow at 12.00 noon. (The News on Christmas Day is ALWAYS of headline format except for the Main evening News which usually of 10 minute duration).
A Film will almost definetely follow at 12.05 due to most people gathering round the TV pre-lunch but post gift wrapping. A family film at this time usually has mass appeal.
An hour of EastEnders at lunchtime would be a waste. To go up against Corrie it will be in a format similar to previous years: i.e: Watch the first episode of EastEnders, switch over and watch Emmerdale and Corrie, switch over again for part two of EastEnders. Always in the first three hours of the evening.
Top of the Pops will probably preceed the queens speech but I do agree that Dale Winton's Dear Father Christmas will be on 3.10pm (See my previous Fantasy Schedule).
Afterwards at 3.55 it may well be Outtake TV but Weakest Link will probably not get a Christmas day airing. I still think Harry Potter will be on at about 3.55 and continue until 6.20.
Chances are that EastEnders will first air at 6.30 before Emmerdale at 7.00 - 8.00 and then Corrie between 8.00 and 9.00pm. The Second episode of EastEnders will more than likely follow the Corrie episode.
Also jonathan Ross may be on Christmas Eve this year as it is a Friday. I personally think he wont be although he will be on on New Year's Eve in a big style! (New Year's Eve is also a Friday.)
Due to Parky defecting to ITV, there may be a "Christmas Night with the Stars" sort of show, perhaps hosted by either Bruce Forsyth or Graham Norton. Maybe Johnny Vaughn or Deniece Van Outen may host it. So yes the entertainment style of show may be a good idea.
The rest of the schedule is ace, but I couldn't give you more than you gave me could I? I don't want to rid myself of half a point so you've got 8 out of ten!!!
Of course, there may well be a brand new Two Ronnies episode!!!

Bloody hell Love-Tv, thats a long shift for poor old James Mates. I bet he'll want treble time for that one!!! Plus your emmerdale and c street need to be split up in order to keep the viewers all evening.
I am gunna think of a schedule and put it on here soon
