That 'big red thing on the wall' has been showing the US Flag since it was originated - are they going to change it at all?

Now THAT is something we ought to be offended about - why the hell should WE be showing big American flags on our British (and Northern Irish) national news programme? By all means use it to illustrate the main story of the day (Not 'the main images of the day cos our audience respond best to short bursts of information, no big words and prefer to look at the pictures' like ITV) but just to stick an American flag there for no good reason (it's been over a month) is annoying.

Yes, they ought to use it to put a seasonal graphic up - as well as special christmas idents, so we can have a whole new set to replace the balloon in January - or at least loads of new balloons cos the current ones are boring now.

Some new balloons would be nice and for christmas we could have normal balloons flying over cities and towns with loads of xmas decs up, and for new year we can have them flying round with fireworks going off. Anyway getting back off topic Wink political correctness has gone mad. I think imigrants should have to swear allegiance to the Queen. Also Jamez what happened with your friend, please say he didn't take it down(i'm suddenly tempted to buy a huge union Jack to hang off the side of my house, i've already got a medium size St. Georges Cross hanging in my room Very Happy

I think it would be a nice touch if Moira Stewart was to wear a Christmas tree on her head.

Your wish is my command!

Now you can say you've heard of a new rare type of shrubbery - a Moira tree!

'Damn! I knew I should've taken those pills before 7am! Now I've got a splitting headache!'

(Err... the image doesn't seem to have worked properly - Can Asa or someone sort this out please?)

I don't remember any thing Christmasy about BBC News last year - well can you blame me? I hardly watched any BBC channels over christmas! Smile

All I can remember is that News 24 had 1 presenter each day for presenting, 24 hours a day. This ran from about the 23rd to new year's day I think.
