Judging by the way they schedule them, I'd say the full length version is being aimed more as a bit of nostalgia at the kids that have now grown up.

I see M&M's are airing their US Christmas Ad where Santa faints here in the UK, just saw it on S4C. The Green M&M's are new here. Picture was cropped to widescreen and quality was horrible.

What decade did they dig that Kelloggs Cornflakes advert out from? Still, it looks traditional I suppose.

The Kelloggs Corn Flakes ad is from 1991. Lots of versions of the original American ad around, the first English-dubbed version is in this STV junction from that year:

(as helpfully noted in the comments by a certain 623058 Razz )

They've shown it in Ireland every year since!

Amen.

I have never and never will understand the appeal this side of the Atlantic for a schmaltzy American advert that frankly imo has no charm whatsoever.

'Legendary'....'the start of Christmas'.......?.

Not in my world.

I wonder if the old favourites like the Hellmans mayonaise one, the Toys R Us one they did last year and the famous grouse will make a reappearance this year?

The famous grouse returns tomorrow.

Since "holiday" originated from the words "holy" and "day", would you not agree that to Christianity there is not a more holy day than the birth of their particular god's son? Wink

Seriously though, I doubt it's political correctness on Coca Cola's part - songs such as "Happy Holidays" have been around since before PC was invented. It's just an American thing.

As QI has pointed out, most of the so-called political correct terminologies applies to Christmas are nothing more than Daily Mail / Express inventions and a couple of overzealous town council idiots.

As for Winterval...
