The 2010 Coke advert has aired tonight apparently... I appear to have missed it so this post is pretty much rendered useless at this time, but it's aired.

Just watched back the first ad break of X Factor and it doesn't appear to have aired on UTV

Still haven't fixed the contrast though. You can barely see anything.

Coca-Cola have a 'making of' video about the new advert here:

Also, the scheduled truck stops are now online at:

The one that aired tonight was the original 'Holidays are Coming' trucks ad from the 1990s - in original 4:3 as well, not cropped to widescreen!

Does anyone know when that first aired, by the way? Youtube has about three million variations, all with the trucks and song but with different shots of kids and families. It feels like it's been around since about the dawn of time, but I only remember it dating back to the mid-1990s....

I like John Lewis' adverts, they have a certain quality feel to them, and the soundtrack choices are pretty good.

The advert was created by the American advertising agency Doner in 1995.

Thanks, that's helped clear a lot up Smile

Looks like these are the main three variants:

1995-1996 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EPs3RFxBJA

1997-1998 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGObre0m3Ik (the one always repeated these days, including last night)

1999-about 2003 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsD1lfzJhwQ

After that it gets a bit confusing...some years they try new ads, sometimes they re-use the trucks, this year they're doing both.
