Rennie used to actually wait till Christmas though.

Was the Yellow Pages ad not another one that didn't appear till nearly Christmas? No chance of them resurrecting that - they don't publish the print edition anymore.

Hellman’s mayonnaise used to be another one but since the remake it has gone out from at least early December.

Looks like Aldi is 2 campaigns in one this year, with the other parodying The Greatest Showman:

Not keen on the Sainsbury's ad this year, but a masterstroke to book a one-hour slot on BBC1 for six weeks.

In Ireland Dunnes Stores has the same Christmas advert up from last year.

Although I did see a Christmas advert for M&S Food recently on ITV2.

There is also one here for their clothing range which has a slogan of Go Jumpers for Christmas.

Still no sign of John Lewis then.

There doesn’t seem to be the anticipation as other years regarding John Lewis, unless that’s just me. ASDA and Aldi have led the way with the supermarkets but LIDL, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose (though that’s usually around the time of the John Lewis launch) still have to launch. Could some be waiting until next weekend’s return if I’m A Celeb? With more pressures on retailers could some be launching later to save money?

IMO the recent John Lewis Christmas ads have been pretty wank anyway.

I’d agree, especially with Elton John one last year.

Sainsbury’s has been pretty consistent, bar a couple of years ago with the clips of customers singing away, however in their defence the song was an ear worm.

Lidl's launched on Wednesday:

My apologies that seemed to pass me by. It’s a nice little realistic version of Christmas without being overly cheesy or too sentimental.

And this is why advertisers should never try to jump upon any trend whatsoever.

Take the hint from Domestos - remove any traces of grime. I like grime, but this is sh*t.
