I think the thing about the Coke add is that they don't stick it out on the air too soon.
It's purely brand improvement- Coke aren't flogging anything special just because it's Christmas so they can leave it off air until most people think it feels like Christmas.
I get very annoyed by Christmas ads in November (like all the ones going on the moment)- hence why stuff like Wollies gets a bad reputation.
In our commercial world, "Holidays are Coming" in December trully marks the start of the Christmas period- American styled or not.

I can't see the attraction of the Coca Cola advert that everyone seems to love so much, especially with it being so obviously American.
I much prefer a campaign like 'Woolie's Winter Wonderland'

I prefer the 'trucks' coca cola advert. But this year it has to be last years ad again, that one with features of the trucks, santa and etc. This ad was made in the UK but the original, which is better, was made in America.

Well, its official, the
Hellmanns Mayonaise ("#...and a jar of hellmanns mayonaise"..)
advert has launched for probably the 13th year now - I saw it during the ad break for I'm a Celeb.
Also, apparently, my sister had a lot of people texting her saying they've seen the Coca Cola trucks advert on Channel 4. Can anyone confirm this? Or is it a teaser which will be shown once then more and more nearer Christmas?

Or very nice! I haven't personally seen either of them, but I look forward too! "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!".
Watching the news today and they had the story that that the tree in Rockerfella Centre had been lit up. Interviewing some of the audience, one person said that it was officially the start of Christmas rather than when Christmas commercials begin the week before Thanksgiving!
Now wasn't Thanksgiving just last week? So why do we seem to have Christmas adverts from October?

Just to let you know The Coca-Cola one is now playing, caught it on VH1 earlier, a mix of trucks, clips of people and the haunting Coke ad with the cartoon Santa, but best of all the "Holidays are Coming..." has been kept.
Good to see Hellmans Mayonnaise has been given another outing, must keep one's eye out for that one.
