Oh no Christmas is here. I've got clients contacting me about christmas designs already.

Think I'll start my Christmas shopping tomorrow.

I've always preferred Christmas and winter in general to the summer - no buzzing insects, no sweltering heat and irritations in a traffic jam, no garden chores to do, no sweating, and more to watch on TV!

A person after my own heart! I am hating this heat! In the cooler weather you certainly don't feel so smelly!

Exactly! And sticky and horrible. Winter is more cosy. Summer you can't even touch someone in case they end up feeling the same, but winter allows you to cuddle up nice and warm.

I just loved the christmas idents for BBC One 2001. They were lovely.

They were lovely yes; my all-time favourite has to be 1999's though. Powerful music, creative ideas and a great theme for Christmas. Pity it was in the days when the Beeb would only run three days of Xmas idents.

Perhaps the rest of this is a conversation best left for The Lounge, but remember about 18 months ago there was rumour of an Act of Parliament being introduced to stop retailers and commerical institutions promoting Christmas until November 1st at the earliest? That's my birthday, at which point I'm feeling in the least bit festive and in the most bit umm-tisss-umm-tisss-umm-tisss-y, but that's beside the point!

Christmas comes earlier and earlier each year. Woolies have started their Xmas rollout, Tesco will have tins of Roses adorned with cartoons of Santa in the next three weeks and for the most everyone thinks "ugh". HOWEVER they're obviously shifting this stock otherwise they wouldn't try and peddle it in August. So clearly there is a call for Summer Christmas. Christmas II if you will.

It's much easier to keep warm in winter than it is keeping cool in the mid-30s. You can put on as many layers as you like but there's only so far you can strip down...short of removing your skin!

Haven't we strayed way off topic here. Personally I think this thread should be locked until mid-September at least.

Only mid-September? That's far too late for a Christmas thread... Very Happy
