I very much doubt Corrie will have a2 seperate episodes on Christmas Day as its always a 1 hour special. Possible for them to change it this year, especially as its a Monday I suppose but I dont expect they will.

From early December they start bringing out the tv guides earlier, first on the Saturday so 3 days early, then the Thursday so 5 days early, then the following Tuesday or even sooner for the double issue which is 7 days earlier. Im just wondering which 2 weeks the double issue will cover?

I would expect it'll be Saturday 23rd December to Friday 5th January, although that's a bit odd as it'll feature all the most of the new season programmes as well as the Christmas programmes

So we can expect tv guides to start going on sale early from early December;

Saturday 2nd December - issue for 9-15th Dec -3 days early
Thursday 7th December - issue for 16th-22nd Dec - 5 days early
Tuesday 12th December (or even sooner) double issue for 23rd Dec - 5th Jan - 7 days early.

Something like that anyway!

The Radio Times will almost certainly run from 23/12/06 - 05/01/07. The 16/12 is too early IMO.

Well all the other tv guides will do the same then as they are never different.

so no one has mentioned the obligotory Top Of The Pops that is ALWAYS shown at 2pm - straight before The Queens Speech. Just because the normal TOTP has finished they have promised specials so why not the Christmas Day and New Years Day episodes???

Also with regards to earlier posts Coronation Street HAS been known to split its 1 episodes on Christmas Day many times in the last 15-20 years (same length of time as the competition with Eastenders!)

For the last 12 years at least its been a 1 hour special as far as I remember. I do remember in 1991 though this did an afternoon episode starting at about 2.45pm and then had the Queen's Speech at the usual time of 3pm and the second half of the episode straight afterwards They then had a second episode at the usual time of 7.30pm. But thats the only time I remember them doing it.

I don't see why the soaps have to be on for an hour on Xmas Day. Then again I don't see why they should be on twice on Mondays or 6 times a week etc etc

An ideal Christmas Day ITV lineup:

ITV1:
5.40 You've Been Framed
6.10 Harry Hill's Christmas Burp
6.40 Emmerdale
7.25 Ant and Dec's Christmas Takeaway
8.25 Coronation Street
9.10 - Premiere: Love Actually
11.25 Parkinson Christmas Special
