Tesco usually only have music at Christmas time. Morrisons have it all year round. Asda I think are the same as Tesco, as are Sainsbury's, except Sainsbury's has their really annoying announcements every 15 minutes saying things like "Welcome to Sainsbury's! In our chilled aisle, why not pick up some yoghurt to add to a hearty lasagne meal. Sainsbury's - live well for less!".
I don't like Sainsbury's.
Our Sainsbury's only ever plays music at Christmas, as I always think oww it must be near Christmas
The M&S advert they feature on their website has slight differences to the broadcast version seen during
Gogglebox
on Channel 4 last night.
In one scene on the website edit you can clearly see the registration number of the helicopter being R-DOLF yet the broadcast version has this blurred out.
The scene where the parents are looking at the mince pies shows the dad looking at the wife and her mouthing "not me" to him. The broadcast version again has it missing.
Finally in the website version Mrs Claus pushes the envelope of the child's letter under the table when Mr Claus walks in. Again the broadcast version have cut it.
Good on Channel 4 though for working with M&S and doing their own version of the ad straight after the premiere showing some of Channel 4's talent. Good plug for the Percy Pig character too!
They had trailers for it running this week. I'll give them credit because they usually put quite a bit of effort into their festive stuff, but we've barely reached mid-November!
Well we haven't reached mid-November. The idea of rebranding channels for Christmas was great when a few did it and waited till December but now it is far too many far too early.

The broadcast version is probably just cut for time. I don't know why that registration number was censored though.
Saw the M&S advert during X Factor on ITV. The "not me" from the mum and the pushing f the envelope out the way were present. It did take up most of the break so like others have said there are probably shorter edits.

The full M&S ad is three minutes, and the C4 ad 1 min 20 secs, whilst the maximum ads + promo time within an ad break is 3m 50 secs, so I guess a 2 min 30 sec version of the main ad was aired if they aired back to back during Gogglebox.
Here is the C4 version - nice to link the two but be completely different though sadly it does highlight how C4 is lacking when it comes to entertainment talent at the moment:
