I think Matt and Toast will match with the off-kilter trend for Christmas adverts, so yes.

Also, I've seen and heard that bloody TK Maxx advert way too much!

It's here!

The John Lewis Christmas advert for 2016:

Meet Buster the Boxer!
"Stop touching Dot's pussy - you don't know where it's been!" (Honey Mitchell, EastEnders)

A bit underwhelming this year I think, but I guess they needed an off year.

I thought last year was their duff year personally. This isn't their best, but beats the man in the moon, certainly happier which is what they were wanting

I quite like this year's. It's nice, simple and cheerful.
It does make me wonder though if John Lewis will ever change christmas advert style now. Will they ever go back to anything like their shadows adverts etc.

I'm not saying they should go backwards, but it's becoming a little boring now with their mini films with the budget of a feature length film!

Why not try something different. I loved Very's adverts from a couple of years ago when they had everything frozen and the camera moved amongst everything. They were really clever and they had a whole series of them including a Christmas one and a party one. They really stood out as something different and unique.

That JL adverts is alright, somewhat truthful in parts... ( just look on youtube for Foxes on Trampolines)

Still NOT a patch on 2014 advert.

They've made that Tesco store look awfully messy and crowded. Shooting down a narrow aisle with people blocking half of it isn't advisable either. You can even see the extras getting in others way in the background. Add to that the most annoying Christmas song of all time playing in the background. Wouldn't make me want to go there to do my Christmas shopping and to me highlights everything that makes Tesco so dreadful these days.

Compare to the Morrisons ad which features only a handful of customers in the background and plenty of close up shots in parts of the store that are more spacious.

But that's how it is in reality? I'm sick of the well organised perfect adverts. The ones with people being happy when shopping annoy me too. It's not reality!!!

Welcome to marketing. Adverts are supposed to twist reality into making you think their product/service is obscenely desirable.

It might as well be for 3, since it's just cute animals doing something ridiculous just to get a reaction, like the moonwalking pony. Stupid.

The Morrisons ad isn't any less real - it's just shot in a way that makes the store seem less of a nightmare to navigate of a December.

This is more Metropol-y than TV Forum-y but with regards to the Tesco advert I shop at Tesco and they never play music (which I actually prefer). Unless they do it just at Christmas and I've never been around that time.
