Basically, the BBC in Leeds 'has caused ructions in regional broadcasting' by poaching YTV's star-presenter Christa Ackroyd who has presented Calendar for over a decade! In September she'll be co-presenting the BBC's rival to Calendar, Look North, with Harry Gration, and his existing co-presenter, Clare Frisby, will move to Hull to present a new opt-out for viewers in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire (who receive their TV signal from Belmont).
Don't forget everyone, Search facilites and a Definitions page are available.
ENPS is the central news system that everyone posts their reports to. These can be download at leisure, say by News 24 for their autocue. The system was developed by the Beeb after they couldn't find a program that did what they wanted it to do.

Re: Clare Frisby on Radio Humberside - it definitely could be a possibility as it has been flagging slightly in the ratings lately. She could take over the lunchtime phone-in from Peter Adamson who has the most annoying voice and style of presenting!
Its just an opt out. Although you'll see 7 minutes less of Leeds during the 6:30 programme and you won't see Ian White at all for the 10:25, unless he decides to move as well. I doubt it though.
Most importantly, you'll still be able to see Peter and Paul.

Oh thank GOD for that! May a floodtide of relief enter my body!
Everything's right with the world again! YEE HAA!

As far as I know, the tests for the opt have them leaving at 6.35 ish for about 7 minutes...rejoining for an item and coming up promo then leaving again for a few minutes before rejoining for a final item and weather...
I hope it works better than Calendar who always seem to be plagued problems with the opt outs. Sometimes they miss junctions, or the opt out starts padding to fill in time. I take it that the non-opt out viewers won't even notice it.
Also, when Calendar come back from the break, they return to the main studio and the 2 presenters (whoever they might be that day) say actually handover to the opt out presenter, so that bit must be pre-recorded. If you see what I mean.

I hope that Ian White stays in Leeds where he belongs! Clare is a much better presenter - I bet there are a lot of people in the Emley Moor area who'll miss her! Any news on whether they'll have a proper desk in Hull with a background image, or will Clare push all the buttons herself (as Peter Levy does at Breakfast?). I presume that the background image will be the view from the roof of Radio Humberside over Hull city centre?!
It would be strange if they did rejoin for an item then leave again for a few minutes.
I would much prefer it if they did it the Close Up way and leave at around 6:35 and then rejoin at about 6:42 for the sting and bed which signifies the still to come sequence.
Of course they could always do it in a South Today Oxford style and have the first 7 minutes seperate, including the balloon, headlines (pre recorded) and then a welcome from the two main presenters and handover to whoever is doing to Oxford news. (then they go live) Then leave again in time for Roger Finn to say 'Still to come'
Of course if they did opt in and out twice it could cause more problems.
