Err - when was Chris a cover presenter on The One Show?

Err - last year

Search for Chris Evans on that page. Looks like he was just a guest on one edition last year.

Gloria Hunniford, Matt Baker, Gethin Jones etc. are listed so they do mention guest presenters.

Chris was a good cover presenter, yet I fear he'll be too 'manic' for the shows audience. Chiles miserable delivery, whilst mocked, works well for the programme.

Think again... He's been a guest on one of the hour long Friday shows, when Adrian was presenting, but hasn't been a presenter on the show.

Gethin Jones, John Sergeant, Matt Baker, Dan Snow, Mike Dilger, Dom Littlewood, Nicky Campbell, Andrew Neill and Nick Knowles have all been stand-ins for Adrian - but not Chris... (It was announced that Chris would guest host a year or two ago - but hasn't happened yet.)

Your mind is playing tricks on you

I must have mistaken his guesting for presetning!!

On another note: I am dreading his arrival!!

I, O so hope that Evans' second implosion is coming sooner rather than later. Am looking forward to the RAJARs keenly.

You not a fan then?
You won't be disappointed by his first set of ratings which will almost certainly be down. However long term you might well be, many who dislike him predicted disastrous ratings for Radio 2 drivetime but of course they weren't

Agree. Further to that, I think the original statement was remarkably callous for someone I'd previously had at least a modicum of respect for.

You can't be dreading it that much if you thought it had already happened!

I don't get why Chris Evans is such a divisive figure all of the sudden. Personally although I was a fan in his his early days (Big Breakfast and before) I'm quite ambivalent about him now, although he is an excellent broadcaster. His autobiography is a good read though, especially for those who are trying to get into the industry

Thanks... But everyone has their broadcasting nemesis and Evans is mine, his style grates with me massively.

Goodness me, he's easy enough to avoid, isn't he ?!

Granted, but hoping for his 'implosion' is a step too far. You know where the 'off' button is - and I see you've used it. Good for you.

This really is déjà vu isn't it?

Evans does television on a Friday night.

Evans wants Fridays off from his radio breakfast show.

Evans taks Fridays off from his radio breakfast show anyway.

Evans gets sack from his radio breakfast show.

I'm with Mr Cornwall here, I'm afraid. Please let it be soon!

It must be something to do with being of more mature years, but I can't stand the little twerp either.

To clarify, the contributors above are correct- Evans was to be the first stand-in for The One Show.

However, after this was agreed, he signed to present the Drivetime show on Radio 2 (5-7pm) and so could not provide cover. Ever since he signed up for Breakfast, rumours of more than just covering Chiles on The One Show have emerged.

I always think of him as sounding like a "little twerp" too, and yet he is actually about 6ft tall. I was really surprised the first time I saw him in the flesh.

I'm afraid I am another one who is waiting keenly for his implosion.
