I can remember a song from a children tv progrmme or school programme on in the 70s / 80s which was sung by a Scottish lady as the intro (the outro was just the tune)

here's the song

morning comes again
the sun is here to stay
time to find a friend
to push the night away
time to find a friend
to share the dream i've found
a dream to tell the world
that love is all around

does anybody remember what the programme was about though

Yup! That was the original series of Gather Round, produced by Grampian, and shown from 1983 to 1985 as part of ITV Schools!

Brings back memories - but I've no idea who the nice Scottish lady was who used to present it...

Just read your post properly Steve - it was a religious programme which focused on Christianity and was aimed at primary school age - the later series, first shown in 1986, I think featured Christopher Lillicrap (what programme didn't?) and was expanded to include other religions.

May have been Sheena, Gavin.

I remember there being several verses to the 'Morning Comes Around' song and an extra verse was 'taught' each week.

I remember the version of Gather Round with Christopher Lillicrap although I don't really remember the other presenter. I wonder what happened to Christopher Lillicrap - by around 1989 he had more or less disappeared, apart from appearing on a BBC Schools programme called Wondermaths a year later.

Does anyone remember Wondermaths?
