A very good website and great trawl down memory lane!

One piece of information that you have omitted is that Floela Benjamin also presented (for a few days) whilst Philip Scholfield was ill sometime.

Why do retain such pointless information! Smile

This was May 1986 and to correct you, Floella actually did an edition of TAKE TWO, while Phillip had his appendix out! He was away from the Broom Cupboard and Debbie Flint was covering.

I hope they do something good, like CiTV did 2 years ago. They could have a old show week where you vote for an old show each day[maybe summer holidays or Oct. Half term].

I seem to also remember Andy Crane doing a big competition involving Tank Tops - A direct memory from my childhood brain there!

I remember this too although I think this was from the Andi Peters era unless it was revisited by him. They flashed up the testcard a couple of times in this Tank Top feature because half of the tank tops resembled a testcard with all the different colours!

As you come to mention it, I think it may have been during Andi Peters era as well.

Oh and reading down a bit further, another memory brought back - Maggot Moments, surely the best bit of Holiday Mornings

Three downloads of the classic 1991 "Children's" ident from other websites

Anyone know which order they were used in?

I had a sneaky feeling it was his appendix operation but didnt want to look that anal in stating it.
From memory i'm CERTAIN Floella filled in for at least one day in the broom cupboard whilst Phil was off and I remember her saying that it was only temporary before they find someone else to fill! I still remember the yellow jumpsuit vividly! Maybe she filled before Debbie was drafted in?

I'm sure it was Andy Crane with the tank top competition. Maybe Peters did it as well.

What are Andy Crane and Simon Parkin up to nowadays anyway? Last I heard of Andy Crane, he was narrating the regional programme Redcoats.

Guradian Media, CHUM and Salford University IIRC own Channel M. As I've said considering he isn't a Newsreader he's not bad at it.

Could this thread turn into a 20 years of CBBC thread?

Andy also used to present on Shop! that old shopping channel, and then went on to Sky Travel. He was also on Jazz FM/Smooth FM in Manchester.

I thought he could still be heard on Century Radio (on FM in Manchester and on Sky/cable) but he might've left.

He does have an official website at www.andycrane.co.uk - but that's been offline for updates for ages!

Last I checked he was doing the Late Lovelines on Century FM/Digital in Manchester. If not he's out on the streets mid-morning doing the vox pops for Channel M News.

He is indeed still doing the late night love show on Century Digital/105.4 - I'm listening to him now.

And I believe Pat Sharp is also on the station too!
