Indeed, I saw you mention it on MHP Chat so I've already taken a look.

So many memories come flooding back. I'm too young to remember Philip Schofield's days but remember from Andy Crane and Simon Parkin's days onwards

The business of them broadcasting on BBC2 occasionally is a memory, as a child I couldn't understand why they used a different studio, I thought it was just for effect.

One particularly vivid memory is "Five to Eleven" bizzarely popping up during But First This. As a child I was bored to tears with this

Oh and I also remember drawing the 1990s Children's BBC logo and getting all the letters right. It was a good logo that one.

Your history suddenly stops though, are you working on a second part?

The history stops at September 1992 when I started full time work. Someone else will be penning the rest, taking us up to CBBC's migration from the Broom Cupboard into Studio A.

A very informative and interesting site almost in time for its 20th birthday. Rather shocked by Andy Crane's mullet!

That's interesting. I only knew Andy Crane from Bad Influence. Gotta love that mullet!

Brilliant memories there! I too only remember the Andy Crane/Simon Parkin days with Edd the Duck onwards. I was born a few weeks after CBBC first started.

I personally remember those classic early afternoon cartoons they used to introduce such as Jimbo The Jet Set, Penny Crayon, Poddington Peas which we'll probably never see again. Then the late afternoon shows such as Grange Hill, Newsround, The Lowdown, Activ 8, Byker Grove and Round the Twist. Smile

I seem to also remember Andy Crane doing a big competition involving Tank Tops - A direct memory from my childhood brain there!

A really excellent site. The Broomcupboard was really IVC in it's purest form with you seeing the announcer pressing buttons and letting you into what went wrong when there was a cockup.

If they wanted to do some retro stuff to celebrate the 20th birthday, would there be anywhere they could use as the broomcupboard these days? I'm guessing a trip to one of the nations might be needed to pull that off now.

A very good website and great trawl down memory lane!

One piece of information that you have omitted is that Floela Benjamin also presented (for a few days) whilst Philip Scholfield was ill sometime.

Why do retain such pointless information! Smile

Loads of pictures i haven't seen before on there! It's a shame it's only the Broom Cupboard though. I'd like to see some of the 1997+ things, like Micheal's awful haircuts!

I remember this too although I think this was from the Andi Peters era unless it was revisited by him. They flashed up the testcard a couple of times in this Tank Top feature because half of the tank tops resembled a testcard with all the different colours!

It's a fantastic webpage, my only negative comment is that it's takes an age to load on dialup with all those pictures. But by saying that, I do need to get into the 21st century by getting broadband Smile
