I'm enjoying the Around The World in 80 Days thing but can't help wondering how exactly it's meant to be raising money. I know they're auctioning the various bits the celebrities are bringing back but that doesn't seem enough for the effort made.

No it isn't - it's going to be the same old **** they've done every year for most of the last decade - the preview for this year is almost identical to last years.
And if there weren't enough people plugging their albums for Christmas on the night itself, they're showing an extra concert too.

I say it every year and I'm sure I'll say it again after the event...
The fact that this (not Eurovision) is the programme Wogan should have retired from presenting years ago. Once he's got the "ol'charm" and the "ol'banter" out the way, he gets completely lost with what is happening next and he forgets which camera he's on by the time 9pm arrives.
I like Sir Terry but he makes an utter fool of himself on this. Yes, I know it's meant to be tongue in cheek but it's pure cringe.
Well I'm sure we can expect Michael Buble, Westlife...etc etc.

I used to enjoy watching Children in Need year after year - but I must admit that in the last few years things have really gone downhill. It's all for a good cause and gets decent ratings, yes... but the entertainment, presentation and general shoddiness of the entire show in recent times has put me off. The studio audience didn't look particularly thrilled last year IIRC.

Ben Elton, Billy Connelly and this year even Lenny Henry knew when to step away from Comic Relief and pass the baton on, but still of course remain heavily involved with the appeal films etc and much more. Indeed, I'm not sure Terry has ever made an appeal film for Children in Need - though they don't tend to be as celebrity led as Comic Relief anyway.

Does anyone know what the newsreaders are doing?
The usual.
and no doubt it'll be the same old usual faces taking part as well.
Do we know who Terry's co-presenter is this year?
I dare say it will be fern cotton or Tess daily
