I wish I'd been watching it on our 32 inch TV downstairs as I haven't seen a test card on that yet and I wanted to see how it looked, but that probably wasn't the proper test card... just a recreation of it with Ian Beale in the middle.
I've watched most of it tonight, and I have to say it has been rather good.
But for the North West this year we have Nicola Dixon coming from the 'studio upstairs' with a few people in the audience, but it hasn't been as mad as previous years, plus no Nigel Jay and his 'groovy' jumpers. Though their captions haven't been too great either, just slightly different than the standard NWT ones.
I managed to flick over to BBC One LDN and Henry Bonsu is keeping it under control down there too, I never knew he worked for LDN, as I've only seen him on The Wright Stuff.
Thanks, Fraser, it definitely was the real TCW by the looks of it - I only got a quick glimpse of it so wasn't sure... ah well... I suppose I'll have to wait and see if they do the engineering tests next month to see it on my 32-inch!
Talking of special idents, did Midlands bring out their Capeoira iwth Pudsey this year? Or did they redo it for proper 16:9 now they're in the Mailbox?
Well blow me! (later maybe). We have a Plymouth OB for the first time in a couple of years.
I remember a few years ago, BBC South West used to be the ones that stayed on till the bitter end. They normally went on past the proper ending time. Was it just the South West that used to do this?
I also remember it used to get quite fruity.
Oh, I miss BBC South West I'm away at uni!
Where are the South West OBs coming from this year? Is it from the Plymouth studios or "on location". Who's been presenting it?
