Well Leeds have just done a soft opt (that's the right terminology isn't it) to run a scroller at the bottom of the screen with local fundrasing news on it. It doesn't fully cover up the network ticker though meaning you could see a tiny bit of Pudsey's head over the top of it!
The opt out button needs realigning I think as at the moment whenever they do a soft opt like this the screen goes green for a second, usually seen at 9.58pm.
The nations have all opted out but are they ever going to opt back in?
BBC One Wales showed the Eastenders Oz parody at 19:30 whereas BBC One proper didnt show it until quite a few minutes later!
I wonder if rather than the nations opting into the national feed it will operate in the effect that the nations will be recording the whole network feed and time delaying certain items to give better opt outs etc?
BBC Wales havent gone back to London yet it has ALL come from Wales!

They dont that already? East Midlands haven't touched the thing yet (think they've learnt from last year when they put their ticker over the screen at any given opportunity.
Nottingham have just opted out (so presumably all the regions have). Their ticker looks just like the network one without the pudsey on the end. The phone number font's different too.
East did their own opt-out with Stewart White and Julie Reinger at The Forum in Norwich. It looked very dodgy, they went back to Terry & Gabby almost mid-sentence.

They did it early then I guess. I read that before Nottingham opted back!
Just been watching BBC South's opt-out and I'm pleased to see a bit of a revival on the regional input front. We had Sally at the OB in Weymouth, and then she handed over to someone else in Southampton who was talking to a few fundraisers. Obviously not as big a deal as in the past, but still better than in 2001/2, by the looks of it.
