Is anybody who is down to host a network OB suitable to step up? Using somebody who is already involved might be a more attractive option.
Although on that basis it will be Grimmy, and to be fair he was decent enough on the One Show the other night.
I'm sure there was a contingency plan for this scenario all along anyway.

I'm guessing a replacement for after 10pm has either yet to be sorted or they'll re-shuffle the other presenters if possible. Dermot seems like a fairly good choice of host, having plenty of experience of live TV. I can't remember if he's appeared on Children in Need before or just with Red Nose Day.

The BBC announced Dermot O'Leary would be stepping in to front the annual fundraiser from 19:30 - 22:00 GMT.
"We are incredibly grateful to Dermot for stepping in at such short notice but know he'll do us and Sir Terry proud," the corporation said.

There is a sting. I saw it before ruining out the door.

No less than usual, it's been advertised on BBC1 quite a lot, plus every evening this week on the One Show, 2 hours last night and lots of mentions on regional news, local radio and radio 2. That's without all the merchandise for sale and CIN uniforms in certain high street shops
I think, like Comic Relief the appeal has moved away from just the evening programme into stuff across the week
This year's Children in Need has been really badly promoted. I've seen occasional promos on BBC One but none on other channels. I was well aware that it was within this month, though got a shock when I learned it was tomorrow!

Can't say I'll be watching CiN tonight. Dermot has always been too bland IMHO.

Don't most people watch it for the various sketches and features though? It doesn't really affect your enjoyment of the show.

Oh it does, I stopped watching Strictly when Bruce Forsyth left. The main presenter is key.
(Strictly has benefited from a poor X-Factor since he left with increased share)
