Children in Need

Officially Children In Need starts at 19:30.
However if the last few years are anything to go by, Children In Need will dominate tonight's One Show, including a countdown. If so, Children In Need coverage will effectively start at 19:00.

NI has been showing the Children in Need Hippos ident over the past few days.

The One Show is now on and, just as I said, it's focused around Children In Need. There's only about 20 minutes to the official start of Children In Need at 19:30.

BBC South's opts tonight are from Bracknell, Reading, Newbury and Oxford... yup, multiple OBs!

Well, BBC South's patch is about the size of David Shuckman's carbon footprint. Oxford's not really an OB because it's at the BBC studios there

Children In Need 2014 is now officially underway. Enjoy the show.

I didn't say it was. Reading, Bracknell and Newbury still constitute 'multiple' though.

Let's hope we get good regional output this time along with actual totals. The CIN of the late eighties early nineties are long gone. Those were the days.

BBC London's opt is with with Marc Ashdown and Wendy Hurrell from BH in HD!

Alan Dedicoat is also doing the voiceover.

The first regional split is now underway. Interstingly I notice BBC One HD on Freesat is showing the London region..

I think Glasgow needs to increase its opt. not to the same level as years gone by where clips were just slotted in left right and centre.

I think some of the London content used the One Show studio?
