but I still don;t understand why scotland broadcast the corrie and eastender speical around 9pm while the England ( thus showing them again to scotland as scotland stop at midnight) broadcasted them around 1am?

Don't worry - it was a repeat in England too. CiN seem to think its fun to 'relive' the better moments of earlier on, cos they haven't got enough filler!

Strange, that.
Make such a big deal out of staying up until 2am, stick with us, give us some money and in return we'll show you everything all over again albeit in a different order. Makes you wonder what it's worth staying up for.

I note the BBC iPlayer splits Children In Need into seven chunks of about an hour each, presumably a direct copy of the network feed, no sign of any regional content (though from the thread seems to be no great loss anyway). However this is only if you look at the TV listings view. If you search for it you get BBC Scotland results as well, which is in bigger chunks of about two and a half hours.

They've been doing it for years now, I stayed up and watched it to the end of the 2001 telethon and after 12.30am it got really boring, as you say it was everything being shown over again while Wogan and Roslin were just sat down looking like they were going to fall asleep.

I really feel sorry for the audience who are there until 2am, and just get to watch the monitors.

For as long as I can remember it's aired until 2am, but did it used to finish around midnight, and not repeat, or has it always gone to 2am, but just not repeated segments?

I always wonder what happens to the audience who leave at 2am - with the tube shut by that point, and limited parking in the area, with a few hundred people milling about there must be brisk service for the taxis companies of Shepherd's Bush! Smile

She fell out with the production team and became a bit of a diva (that's what I've heard, allegedly anyway).

Apparently they were going to change the presenting teams a bit this year. Terry and Tess would host the show to 10pm and then after the news it would be Jonathan Ross and Fearne.

Yes - IIRC they tried to get hold of Jonathan Ross. Left a message on his answerphone, but he never called back.
