The moment you're all waiting for - BBC News meets ABBA.

The costumes are quite unflattering and for once do not provide that much fetish fuel, but the girls are outstanding and Hollins is an idiot as usual. And getting his oar in post-performance.

And you've got Nicholas Owen, who you know will appear every year now he's at the BBC, and Ben Brown who's obviously trying to become a household name by appearing this year. Has Fiona Bruce appeared every time, I'm sure she must be near the top of the appearances list

The Newsreaders' act wasn't that good compared to previous years, although it was still reasonably entertaining. Susanna Reed was fantastic.

The whole show seems to be lacking the usual atmosphere this year Confused

Am I the only person cringing at Fearne's attempts at being "street" with that kid from the film just now?

It lacks it every year, a very poor night's entertainment.

Who was doing the actual singing? The women in particular couldn't remember to hold the mic to their mouths to save their lives!

I noticed all the Mamma Mia performers behind them were singing, but didn't appear to have mics on. Also Ben did it last year if I'm not mistaken, and I was pleased to see Sussanna rather than Kate personally.

At one point they sounded very out of tune, so I think they pre-recorded the song and mimed to it during the performance, but that's just a guess.

They might as well rename it the Top Of The Pops Children In Need Special. What happened to Cirque du Soleil? Or the guy that used to dress up as the Mona Lisa (you know the one I mean). Are they not trendy enough anymore? Sad

Yet you watch it every year, and relish in telling everyone how terrible it is. You need to take a long, hard look at yourself.

I know it's a pres forum, but some of you need a sense of perspective. Lavish shows are expensive to make, and the Beeb obviously has decided to settle on a fairly formulaic format in recent years. So what?! It raises money therefore the end result is worth it.

With the majority of households in Britain now having digital TV, I'm sure you're not short of other channels to watch. Please don't sit and force yourself to be so 'poorly entertained' for my benefit.

Too much singing and no variety. Instead of endless pop stars and musicals get a few magicians or acrobats. Get some comedians to. Make it a real evening of variety.
